100 Strong Carstairs & Area held its inaugural meeting on September 10, 2019. Rayel Walker and Ila Schmitt fell in love with the idea of the 100 Who Care model and knew our local communities could greatly benefit from a group like this. In February of 2019 they attended a meeting as guests and couldn’t wait to start planning.

 

Shortly after, Craig Walker also realized what a powerful impact this could make to our community and decided to join the team.

In December 2019, Melanie Lorek expressed that she would love to help in anyway she could. With her experience in helping local local not for profits, she has been a great asset to the team.

 

Together, these four are excited to spread the word and rally the people of our community together to help some amazing local charities and organizations.

 

We are a part of the 100 Who Care Alliance. Originally started by Karen Dunigan of Jackson, Michigan in 2006 the concept has expanded throughout the world. There are now more than 600 fully operational chapters and more than 250 under development and they include women, men, kids and teen chapters. Wow!
